Hiking Club with Gluglú

Recently, we had new guests joining our Hiking Club: Marta and Mateo from Gluglú Wines! A natural wine bar located in the heart of A Coruña. A must-stop if you’re visiting the city center.

This time we explored a route near Vilarrube Beach, following a path that leads to a lighthouse and takes you all around the coastline.The views over the beach during the final stretch are incredible, and although the route is a bit longer, it’s absolutely worth it.

Marta and Mateo come from very different backgrounds. While Mateo, passionate about photography, spent years working in advertising and audiovisual production, there came a point when he felt the need for a change and decided to take the leap and open the wine bar he had always dreamed of.Marta, on the other hand, worked in the fashion industry for years before also deciding to shift paths and join Mateo in the project.

Luna and Pistachita, Marta and Mateo’s dogs, also joined us on the route and definitely had the most fun!

If you decide to do the route, you can’t miss the small hidden cove just before the lighthouse, tucked along the coastline.Getting down there is a bit tricky, you’ll need to hold onto a rope for the final descent, but we promise it’s absolutely worth it.

To end the afternoon, there’s nothing better than stopping by A Taberna Do Puntal for some homemade cooking.If you want to try their tortilla, honestly one of the best we’ve had, make sure to call ahead to reserve one. And if you have a sweet tooth, don’t miss the flan for dessert!
